A FoxNews.com investigation reveals that a popular recreational pellet gun can be converted easily to a real semi-automatic weapon. And while the federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is already aware of the issue, these “toys” -- new, top-of-the-line airsoft rifles -- continue to be sold throughout the country

The editor of this blog bought a wristwatch tonight at the last of Pasadena's old-line chain department stores, now under a different corporate name. The sales clerk, "Donna," and I struck up a conversation. Donna is from the United Kingdom and she says she originally migrated to the U.S. because things were more honest here. Interestingly, Donna related that she now works two jobs as she is occupationally displaced due to the financial meltdown. She now works as a retail sales manager in the jewelry department of a major department store and does part time consulting in risk management. Her...

" A doctor admitted yesterday in Superior Court in Middlesex County that he stole a hand from a medical-school cadaver in May 2002 that was later found in the home of an exotic dancer he had befriended. PLYMOUTH, Mass. (July 2) - In this village settled by thrifty Pilgrims, you can still buy penny candy for a penny, but tourist Alan Ferguson doubts he'll be able to dig any 1-cent pieces out of his pockets. He rarely carries pennies because "they take up a lot of room for how much value they have." Instead, like so many other Americans, he dumps his pennies into a bucket back home in Sarasota, Fla. Pity the poor penny! It packs so little value that merry kids chuck pennies into the fountain near the candy store, just to watch them splash...

The CP interview: Dr. Michael Osterholm of the University of Minnesota's Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy talks about the flu bug that could bring the world to its knees. BY STEVE PERRY3-22-2006 Scare headlines about the possibility of a deadly flu pandemic have been with us for a few years now, ever since the H5N1 bird-flu virus that first appeared in Hong Kong in 1997 resurfaced in the region in 2003. But in the past month the drumbeat of such stories has grown faster and louder: Avian Flu Arrives in Poland. Turkey. Azerbajian. Germany. Denmark. And, just last...

Not A Good Thing Ibd Wed Nov 2, 7:00 PM ET Politics: If stealing and destroying secret documents, stuffing them into your pants and then lying about it isn't a crime worthy of jail time, why is having a different recollection of events than Tim Russert? If the charges swirling around Scooter Libby -- that he deceived those investigating a crime for which he was not charged -- seem familiar, they should. Not long ago Martha Stewart was indicted and convicted, not of insider trading in a suspiciously timed stock sale, but of deceiving investigators into a crime for which...

Here's a vast right-wing thing Sunday, Jun 26, 2005 By John Brummett First, why do I even write about this vicious, salacious and scandalously undocumented attack on Hillary Clinton? Its seediest allegations are so dubiously sourced they're not getting repeated in most of the reputable mainstream media, which is a wise lead I'll follow. The author apparently lies even in a caption on one of the book's photographs, asserting that Bill Clinton is getting a mouth-to-mouth kiss from a woman in a crowd. The photographer has come forward to say that what's happening in the shot is a standard and...

Hillary gets a pass, DeLay is assailed Posted: May 14, 2005 1:00 a.m. Eastern WorldNetDaily.com It's really a good thing that Sen. Hillary Clinton is a Democrat. If she were a Republican, she would have been the topic of dire front-page headlines in the New York Times and at the forefront of "CBS Evening News" broadcasts over the past several days with her name being connected with a shadowy political fund-raising imbroglio. What's that? You say you weren't aware that Mrs. Clinton was at the center of a significant controversy? No surprise there. Like I said, she's a Democrat. So...
